Dave Mirra won an unprecedented 14 gold medals as a BMX competitor at X Games before retiring from competition in 2011. Then he did something nobody in his sport could have predicted: He set his BMX bike aside altogether and never looked back, focusing instead on his new rallycross racing career, his wife and kids and new pursuits like amateur boxing and Ironman triathlons.
